Low 30’s and a fresh coat of snow with mostly clear roads set a scenic stage for some solid base miles and a heater on the tail end. Maybe it was the new tire but the bike felt fast and nimble on the way to the start which quickly faded as we headed into the 10 mph NE winds.
Oddly iced up section just west of town had us scattered for miles with some braving the conditions more than others:
Largest sunday group in a long time at 15 tested our group riding skills with several riders off the front to who knows where, several off the back doing who knows what and people wanting to stop every 10 miles to pee or buy some crap at a Casey’s.
