Hosta seeds emerge!

Betting the colorful radar would chase off the bulk of our peloton, and no end in near sight, I scrapped another Wednesday ride in favor of warm and dry. 7” of rain for the month and 600 reported tornados for the year when 160 is avg. Commuting miles have been pleasantly, mostly dry.

Wouldn’t mind this town with no roads one bit.

Eager to rejoin the banter and camaraderie of the ‘cards I braved the colorful swaths on the radar in Oklahoma and MIssouri hoping someone else would too; nope. Low 50’s and single digit winds still chilled me enough that I headed for the warmth of home and entrenched security of a hefty to-do list instead of 20 – 30 miles into the wind.

Found a train with lots of paint, nice to have a pile of stuff to work through at my leisure:

Highlight of the day was strawberry rhubarb topped custard at mom’s to complete an early spring tour. Her recovery garden continues to spill its bounty into mine; solomons seal, baby tiger lilies and  siberian irises.

Enourmous Nobody

With kit and rig prepped, I got up at 6:15 for the ride, felt tired and run down and went back to bed until 11. Took a 3 hour nap this afternoon. I know how to party.

Low 40’s and stiff wind from the north made this one feel like a late winter ride. Nursing allergies and feeling generally crappy I rode well within my limits and dropped off the back early to relax and make sure a new rider found their way home. New team kit looks good, thinking a pair of bibs in addition to the jersey are in order this year.
