52.5 @ 19 max 34.6

Upper 70’s finishing in the low 80’s, 15 from the SSW.

P5305433

Nice sized group for a memorial day ride. Somehow avoided lining up with Martin and got Stone. Out of the frying pan into the fire. Legs were reluctant to wake up but felt pretty good overall. 19 – 20 into a 15+ mph wind for a mile is hard.

I listened to better judgment and turned back with the early group. Lots of things to do in this modern life and with not feeling the best, I need to carefully budget my energy.

52.7 @ 19 max 36.8

Low 70’s finishing in the upper 70’s, South winds at 15 for a lovely trip to Tuscola. Luckily plenty of miles on their legs from yesterday but still a brisk pace.

Been a while since I’ve heard “ mechanicalll! “ called. The lack of blue loctite quickly named as the culprit.

Good times. Still feeling puny and just off. Hoping if I keep slogging it out on the bike when I can it will work itself out.

Tour de Champaign – 2011 images

Images for Rumble at the Reservoir and Tour de Champaign downtown Sunday are up. Was tired after work and didn’t do as much post processing as I wanted (cropping, fixing colors, resizing, rotating so poles aren’t skewed, etc).

Few highlights from Saturday:

Hogan Sills absolutely destroyed the field with this guy from lap 1. I haven’t seen the results and missed the finish. His dad was lookin’ stong too, I swear it’s in the genes.

Tour de Champaign - 2011

Arrived late and spent some time corner marshaling, visiting and making images. After a few hours of cropping and resizing I’ll have more to show. ‘till then here’s a vid of the Masters 30+ Cat 1/2/3 race and the disappointing cancellation of the 1/2/3 race (1:15 of the vid is a curious moment). I like how the wind picked up on cue.
